Silsoe Pre-School offers early years education for children aged from 2 years until they start school at age 4 years.

 

Sessions are available every day of the week during term time. All sessions are both educational and fun.

 

Providing spaces are available, your child can attend any of the following session times Monday through to Friday.

Happy & Healthy Learners Package - Requested from all families using government funded hours

 

At Silsoe Pre-School, we strive to deliver outstanding education to every child who attends our setting. Our dedicated and creative team are committed to providing activities based a curriculum to support every child's unique learning journey. Most families who attend our setting use 15 funded hours for 2 year olds or 3 year olds. 

 

 

Half day (1 funded session)

9am-12pm or 12-3.15pm

Full day (2 funded sessions)

9am-3.15pm

 

£2.50 per session

 

£5.00 per day

 

 

The Happy & Healthy Leaners Package is requested and invoiced monthly to all families who use government funded hours. 

 

The government says 'Government funding is intended to deliver 15 hours a week of free, high quality and flexible childcare.' Funded hours are not intended to cover the cost of consumables, activities, snacks or other additional costs / services.  

 

Families who receive certain benefits and qualify for EYPP or are government supported may choose to opt out of this charge by emailing [email protected] - the quality of care, activities or opportunities offered to your child will not be affected. 

 

What does the Happy & Healthy Leaners Package include?

First Aid training for all staff, SEND courses, Physical and Nutritional training, wellbeing, outdoor learning

General Consumables

Wet wipes, nappy bags, spare clothing

Lunchtimes

Our afternoon session includes lunchtime, if your child is attending an afternoon session please provide them with a packed lunch.

 

Ad-Hoc Sessions

We are often in a position to be able to offer ad-hoc sessions. Please ask at Pre-School for further information.

 

Staff Ratios

We use the following ratios of adult to child:

  • Children aged 2 years of age - 1 adult: 4 children
  • Children aged 3 to 4 years of age - 1 adult: 8 children

GOVERNMENT FUNDING

 

We offer up to 15 hours of government funded sessions to eligible 2 year olds and up to 15 hours of universal government funded sessions to 3&4 year olds. From January 2026, we are delighted to announce that we will be offering 30 funded hours to eligible families. 

 

Funded early years education for 2 year olds

Parents/carer of eligible 2-year-olds may be entitled for funded hours each week.

Funded early years education for 3- and 4-year-olds

All 3- and 4-year-old children are entitled to 15 hours (or 5 Pre-School sessions) of universal government funded early years education over a 38-week school year.  If your child's third birthday falls between:

  • 1 April and 31 August they qualify for funding from 1 September
  • 1 September and 31 December, they qualify for funding from 1 January 
  • 1 January and 31 March, they qualify for funding from 1 April

Entitlement to government funded sessions does not guarantee a place or pattern of sessions.
